WKRC-TV is a local station based in Cincinnati, Ohio that broadcasts on digital channel 12. The call letters K, R, and C refer to the Codel Radio Company, which was the orginal owner of WKRC. The station was founded on April 4, 1949 as a CBS affiliate on analog channel 11, moving to 12 in 1952. It became an ABC affiliate when WKRC swapped affiliates with WCPO-TV in 1961. It held its ABC affiliation until when it swapped affiliates with WCPO-TV to become a CBS affiliate again in 1996 as a result of a deal between The E.W. Scripps Company (owner of WCPO-TV) and ABC. Today the station remains an CBS affiliate.
