WMGT-TV is the callsign for the NBC affiliate in Macon, Georgia. It broadcasts on digital channel 30 while being displayed on tuners as virtual 41. Its subcarrier (30.2 digital, 41.2 virtual) carries My Network TV programs.
The station signed on in 1968 as WCWB and has been an NBC affiliate from the start. Prior to the station signing on, NBC had been mainly available from Atlanta's WSB/channel 2. It is Macon's second full-time NBC affiliate--in 1953, WETV went on the air on channel 47 as an NBC affiliate but it went off a year later (changing calls to WNEX in the interim) as TVs in the mid 50s were not equipped with UHF tuners. The station changed its call to WMGT in 1983 (a radio station in Minnesota also bears the call WMGT).
