Walt Disney Productions was, from 1929 to 1986, the name of the business operator current registered as Walt Disney Company. Furthermore, it was the brand under which all Disney television productions (as well as feature films and shorts) were produced, prior to 1983.
After 1983 the Disney TV production moved to subsidiaries Walt Disney Television (producing live action children and family shows, established 1983), Walt Disney Television Animation (producing animated series and specials, established 1984), and Touchstone Television (producing mainstream television shows, established 1985).
