Time to Reap is the eleventh episode of the second season of War of the Worlds, and the thirty-fifth episode overall.

Plot Overview

Under the Eternal's instructions, Malzor takes advantage of a rare opportunity to go back in time to 1953 in the aftermath of the failed invasion in order to prevent their brethren from succumbing to Earth's bacteria.

Trivia

The Show

• According to the information given in this episode, the 1953 invasion began on August 28th and ended on September 2nd. Although it is unknown if this is canonical, it nevertheless remains one of the few pieces of information that doesn't contradict anything in the first season.
• All of the scenes that take place in 1953 are in black-and-white. The same technique of scenes in the past playing in black-and-white is employed in Friday the 13th: The Series, which was another show of Frank Mancuso Jr.'s.

Goofs

• It's stated that the invasion force in 1953 actually died. This not only confuses the first season backstory, but contradicts the second season's premiere episode. Additionally, Harrison quotes Dr. Forrester's belief that the aliens weren't killed, which is taken from the first season, but he goes on to add "at least not right away." Once again, whether he is quoting Forrester (who is mentioned to have been ostracised due to his belief that the aliens might come back), or adding his own assumption, it is a major ignorance of the first season.
• Harrison says that, according to Dr Forrester, the arrival of the aliens were ushered with power failure and electromagnetism. This phenomenon was actually accompanied with the firing of the Heat-Ray.
• Harrison also notes strange weather patterns with the aforementioned phenomena. This was made up with Season 2 since there was no such anomalous weather seen or mentioned in the film.
• When Harrison looks at the newspaper, the shot focused on it shows bare fingers holding onto it. However, Harrison is wearing gloves and unlike Kincaid's, they cover his entire hand.
• Harrison calls Sylvia "Mrs. Forrester". This is another continuity problem as the first season never states that she married Clayton as she was often referred to as "Ms. Van Buren".
• If Harrison met his adult self when he was a child, it seems odd that Harrison would never mention this.
• When Harrison and Kincaid are watching the press conference with General Mann on the store television, one can see that at least twice what occurs on the TV when the scene is focused on it is replayed in the reflection of a store window.
• When Kincaid falls out of the car, he has a gun in his hand. It disappears between shot. (Due to the cropped presentation on DVD, this is only seen in the original broadcast version.)
• As with "Seft of Emun", the aliens are seen wearing the suits in 1953 that they obtained in 1988.
• Malzor has only 12 hours to remain in 1953. However, it is daylight the entire time he stays. Even if he arrives just at the sun is dawning, it doesn't appear to be getting dark when he leaves.
