The Writers Guild of America Awards, or WGA Awards, are presented annually by the Writers Guild of America. The WGA jointly makes up the members of all working writers in WGA West and East. The award honors outstanding achievements in film, television or radio writing and has done so since 1949.
Simultaneous awards ceremonies are held in New York City and Los Angeles by both halves of the Writers Guild. In 2004, the two ceremonies were broadcast for the first time by E! in 2004. They have been broadcast annually during awards season since that year.
