Bad Robot Productions (commonly referred to as Bad Robot) is a production company owned by J.J. Abrams with Bryan Burk serving as Executive Vice President and responsible for developing and supervising all of Abrams' productions. Thom Sherman served as President of Bad Robot from February 2004 to June 2006 when he left the production company to serve as Executive Vice President, Drama Development at The CW. Sherman was responsible for development and oversight of all programming produced by Bad Robot; a successor has yet to be named.

Under the Bad Robot banner, Abrams created and executive produced Alias, and is co-creator and executive producer of Lost. Other Bad Robot productions include What About Brian, Six Degrees, Fringe, Person of Interest and Alcatraz.

In July 2006, J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions signed separate deals with Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Television regarding film and television, respectively. Under the film deal with Paramount Pictures, Bad Robot entered a long-term, first look producing arrangement. The deal includes a project to revive the Star Trek film series and for Bad Robot to produce movies budgeted under $25 million. Under the television deal with Warner Bros. Television, Bad Robot will develop and produce new television projects for the studio.
