Plot Overview
Gold-digging hussy Marcia loses out on inheriting a huge amount of wealth from her recently-deceased elderly husband, unless she takes in his granddaughter Ruby and raises her as her own. A phone call from her husband's previous wife and executor of his estate reveals that she has cancer and wants to spend her last few months with Ruby. From there, Marcia is set to drive Ruby through the woods to her grandmother's house, only to run into a very big, very bad wolf.
Notes
Trivia
The Show
- The ashtray from the original Creepshow story "Father's Day" can be seen next to Marcia's bed, holding a scrunchie.
- Marcia's late husband David is hinted to have been killed in a "hunting accident" during his funeral, similar to what Nathan Grantham in the above story did to his daughter's lover, driving her to kill him.
- As the comic closes, we see panels from Night of the Paw.
- A cook at the diner where Marcia breaks up with Benny takes someone's order with Jay's orange phone from The Hat.
Behind the Scenes
Allusions and References
- The entire episode is a morbid retelling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood, as a young girl in a red hood and a basket of goodies is stalked by a wolf through the dark and spooky woods.
- Keegan Connor Tracy, who plays Marcia, previously appeared in Once Upon a Time, which also featured a version of Red Riding Hood who was named Ruby and shown to be a werewolf.
- The deputy Benny radios to have Marcia's car towed out of a ditch is named "Marge", likely after the ghostly trucker "Large Marge" from Pee-wee's Big Adventure.
