Plot Overview

Dominic tries to find out who in City Council leaked Lloyd Manning's contract bid, while simultaneously trying to get the slot machines installed at the Hastings racetrack.

Jacobs continues to push Dominic's buttons by publicly criticise his policies.

Kosmo and Finn's investigation gets thick when they discover a stun-gun may have played a role in the altercation between police and the patient. They also begin an investigation on a late-night shooting in a pawn shop.

Leary traces the bones of the aboriginal boys to the sex trade.

Zack's infiltration of the squatters pays off when he finds out that Friedland is planning to move them out to Queen Elizabeth Park.

A witness to the Stanley Park attack helps paint a picture, but doesn't point towards the hate crime angle councillor Jason Horne is looking for.

Happenings

  • A quartet of officers begin busting grow-ops.
  • Detectives Carter and Lineham begin investigating the gay-bashing. A witness says he saw a group of people confronting a man. Carter tells Horne about the racists remarks, but he wants to see it get prosecuted as a hate crime against gays.
  • Dominic meets with Tom Venice and brings with him Billie Simms. Venice tries to get Dominic to insert the slots, threatening to sell if they can't be secured.
  • Joe tells Zack he's planning to move everyone into Queen Elizabeth Park. Zack tells Dominic who tries to persuade Joe to moving to Crab Park.
  • Pierce claims Manning lost the bid because he was too complacent. When asked, he confesses to being aware of the money out there, but doesn't know who took it. Dominic confronts Forsythe about who provided Manning the bid number, but she assures him that if there's any leak, it would be coming from City Council.
  • Stun gun artefacts are found on the mental patient's chest. One of the constables mentions using the stun gun, but only says he used it on the dog and won't give it over to Finn.
  • Mick talks with Clarke Messner about the police investigation concerning the two native boys. He tells Mick about them being picked up by a limousine and taken to a fancy hotel. He also tells them about other kids that also disappeared about that time, including one named Cody Bell.
  • In response to Jacobs's comment regarding the halfway house, Dominic asks for a draft of replacements for Chief of Police.
