Basic Information
Character History
Barbara Wright, or just Barbara as we come to know her, is/was a history teacher at the Coal Hill School in London [in 1963]. She became one of the Doctor's travelling companions, while looking after a student (Susan) in the episode An Unearthly Child. After she and Mr. Chesterton pushed their way into the TARDIS, the Doctor couldn't just let them go right away, or they would tell stories.
By the time they encounter the Sensorites, she and Ian have clearly come to enjoy the companionship and adventures they have shared with Susan and the Doctor.
She and Ian were finally able to return to Earth in 1965 in story 016 - The Chase.
