Plot Overview

After an embarrassing town meeting where Jack attempts to start a baseball league in a town full of nerds, he's called to the scene of a hit and run accident. Whatever hit the victim was on foot and Taggart believes that it's Bigfoot. The three find a mangled corpse in middle of a destroyed clearing in the woods near where the wreck occurred. They call in Henry to autopsy the body, who finds that it isn't an animal attack and that the body has a computer chip in it. It's sophisticated, so Jack calls Allison to covertly find the source of the chip. Unfortunately for them, Stark shows up and confiscates the body because there isn't proof of a crime.

Although Stark has stolen all of the evidence because Section 5 materials are classified (including researchers), the police manage to continue their investigation using a 3D image of the body that Henry took. At Global Dynamics, Stark confronts Milton Houk, a Section 5 scientist working on a defense contract who was in charge of the dead researcher. While spying on Houk, Fargo sees him taking eye drops that are enhancing his team in some way. Meanwhile, Jack finds some evidence that Stark's goons missed on the scene. He takes it to Henry, who has come up with a theory that the guy was running at several hundred miles per hour. Henry finds from the ear that Hawthorne had been taking steroids which gave him that speed.

At Global Dynamics, Jack sits in on lunch to look for scientists eating an abnormal amount of food. He spots Hauk's team. Allison implores him to be delicate but Jack handles it in typical fashion, by displaying the 3D image of the corpse on their table and calling them murderers. As Stark mocks Jack's theory, Fargo comes blazing into the cafeteria at high speeds, proving that something is wrong. They place the suspects in holding cells and Jack confiscates the drug so he can send it to Henry.

Later that evening at Jack house, Zoe's new friend Dylan comes over to tutor her in chemistry. As Jack tags the evidence bag, blur flies through the living room and snatches it away from him. The next day, Jack interrogates Milton and tells him that unless he gives up a name, he's going to let him suffer the ravages of withdrawal. Milton starts to say that it wasn't his idea, but his brain shorts out before he can tell Jack who trashed his house. Jack replays the tape recording of the interrogation at double speed to find out that the drug's name is MPH, an advanced form of Ritalin. Stark tells Jack that Dylan, because he's a student intern, is on the MPH drug trial.

Jack goes to Zoe's school to pull her out of class so that she'll be safe, but as he explains what someone on MPH can do, he's suddenly pulled from the car at a high speed. He winds up next to a lake with Dylan, who tells him that he cooked the MPH for Milton and the others so that he'll move up in the world of Eureka. Milton runs up to Jack, hits him and steals his gun. When Dylan tries to fire the gun, it has the safety on but he doesn't check it. When Dylan rushes him, Jack takes him down with a baseball.
