Arc Advancement

Happenings

Characters

  • Dorie refers to Naomi as "Laura" because she looks like a Laura and Naomi agrees it's an " acceptable substitute for now."
  • Naomi lost a child. The circumstances are unknown.
  • Dorie was a police officer who shot a robber in the leg, causing him to bleed to death. While the town regarded him as a hero, he felt guilt and retreated to a remote cabin.
  • Naomi washed up on the shore of Dorie's property with a wound and was eager to leave once it healed.
  • Dorie gives Naomi one of his two guns before she leaves.
  • Dorie falls in love with Naomi and reluctantly tells her and they kiss.
  • Dorie wakes up the next day and finds Naomi gone, but has spelled out "I LOVE YOU TOO" and "I'M SORRY" with Scrabble letters, the former of which Dorie kept.

Referbacks

  • Dorie reveals his last name, which Naomi observes is "like the fish" before he points out "but I-E, no Y." This is how he introduced himself to Morgan in "What's Your Story?".
  • Naomi says she's seen people get seen being exposed to walker blood, reaffirming how dangerous it can be, as seen with Father Gabriel's story arc during Season 8 of The Walking Dead.

Trivia

The Show

  • Frank Dillane's name has been removed as of this episode.

Behind the Scenes

Allusions and References

  • The movie Dorie is watching in the beginning is Road to Bali. When Naomi wakes up, he's watching Meet John Doe.

Memorable Moments

  • As walkers invaded his shore, Naomi gets overwhelmed before Dorie shoots with his pair of six-shooters.

Quotes

  • Morgan: She loved you.
Dorie: Yes. Maybe if I waited to tell her--
Morgan: No.
Dorie: Maybe--
Morgan: There ain't no waiting. Not in this world. Waiting, that's... That's how you lose people.
