Plot Overview

Morgan Jones leaves his community to get away from people, wandering from Virginia into Texas. Despite his efforts to be alone, he soon meets and is befriended by a strange gunslinger and both are taken in by a former news reporter who wants to hear their personal stories.

• Markers in the forms of flags with numbers have been spotted in the past few weeks, but their origins and purpose are unknown.

• Morgan leaves Virginia and eventually makes his way to Texas.

• Morgan meets John Dorie and both meet Althea.

• Dorie is looking for a woman named Laura who's carrying an antique gun matching his own.

• Althea, also known as Al, was a journalist prior to the apocalypse.

• Like Morgan, Dorie tries not to kill.

• Despite having been seen separated, Alicia, Nick, Strand, and Luciana have since reunited. Madison and Daniel's status and whereabouts are unknown.

• Morgan recounts the war between his communities, Alexandria and the Kingdom, and the larger one, the Saviors, that threatened them. He even mentions Ezekiel's pet tiger.

• Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt, and Lennie James are added to the cast as of this episode.

• In addition to Lennie James, this episode also includes Tom Payne, Melissa McBride, Andrew Lincoln reprising their roles from The Walking Dead in guest appearances.

• This episode originally aired immediately after The Walking Dead Season 7 finale, the first time both shows aired back-to-back.

• The show now has a different theme and title sequence. The scene depicted will change from episode to episode.

• The zombies now look more decayed, like that of the main Walking Dead series, as opposed to the first three seasons when they looked relatively more fresh.
