Global Frequency is a proposed science fiction drama series based on the comic book of the same name.

In 2004, The WB financed production of a pilot for a program based on the monthly comic book by acclaimed comic author Warren Ellis. The story centered on an organization called Global Frequency, founded by an enigmatic woman named Miranda Zero. This organization consisted of 1,001 operatives all around the world identified only by number, and linked by a worldwide network of specially designed wireless phones. Each member of the Global Frequency team excelled at one (or several) fields.

The show was intended to be a "rescue drama." The comic series outlined a series of disasters which were the result of archaic "land mines" left by governments coming up with new ways to wage war. Among the operations in the comics included weaponized Ebola virus, "Star Wars" defense satellites and a "Bionic Man." When a particular crisis was detected, and traditional law enforcement or government organizations were too slow to respond, Zero would activate the closest or most needed GF operatives to deal with the problem.

Sometime between September and November of 2004, the WB received a final edit of the pilot episode, and passed on ordering a first season. Normally, this would be the end of the series, and the aborted show would have gone completely unseen by the world. However, in June of 2005, one of the screener DVDs of the pilot was leaked and distributed over various P2P networks and BitTorrent. While executive producer John Rogers was compelled by Warner Bros. to decry the infringement, he has written in his blog how the outpouring of positive fan praise has kept alive a small hope that the series may yet be officially released in some form.

That hope is largely unfounded, however, as Warner Bros. executives "did not take kindly to the leak" according to an e-mail to Ellis' "Bad Signal" mailing list. Ellis claims that all hope of the series being resurrected is "dead as dead can get."
