The Six Million Dollar Man is a sci-fi drama that aired on ABC. It debuted with a pilot movie on the ABC Movie of the Week on March 7, 1973. Two sequel movies, The Six Million Dollar Man: Wine, Women and War and The Six Million Dollar Man: The Solid Gold Kidnapping aired as The ABC Suspense Movie later that year, and the show was picked up as a midseason replacement due to their success.
The Six Million Dollar Man would produce a popular spin-off, The Bionic Woman starring Lindsay Wagner, beginning with a pilot, which aired as a two-part episode of the series. A second episode intended as a pilot, The Bionic Boy, fared much worse.
Over a decade after their respective series ended, Wagner and Lee Majors reunited in a trilogy of TV movies: Return of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman in 1987, Bionic Showdown in 1989 and, at last, Bionic Ever After? in 1994, in which the two cyborgs were finally married. Also, a short-lived remake of the original Bionic Woman aired on NBC in 2007.
