Happenings
- Will and Alana kiss.
- Hannibal kills Franklyn.
- It's alluded that Bedelia was attacked by one of her patients and that he later died.
Characters
- Tobias tries to court Hannibal and befriend him because of their similarities. However, he rejects his advances and seems to increasingly favour Will's friendship.
Referbacks
- Tobias states he changed his mind about killing Hannibal after following him to a lonely road and to a bus yard. This made him witness to Hannibal killing the independent medical examiner in "Sorbet".
Trivia
The Show
- One might notice a resemblance of the relationship between Franklyn and Tobias and that of Benjamin Raspail and Jame Gumb from The Silence of the Lambs. The original intent was for this to be background for the characters, but the idea fell through when the show couldn't get the rights to the characters from MGM. The name Franklyn Froideveaux came from Benjamin Franklin and Froideveaux, a street that runs parallel to Raspail in Paris.
Behind the Scenes
Allusions and References
- Tobias killing the trombonist for the Baltimore Metropolitan Orchestra is clearly based on Hannibal killing the flautist of the Baltimore Philharmonic Orchestra as revealed in Red Dragon. In both cases, the players were bad and Hannibal feels the respective orchestra is better off without him.
Memorable Moments
- Hannibal snaps Franklyn's neck.
Quotes
- Hannibal: I know exactly how you feel, but I don't want to be your friend.
- Tobias: Then why did you invite me here for dinner? Wasn't just to restring your harpsichord.
- Hannibal: I was going killing to you. I didn't poison you, Tobias. I wouldn't do that to the food.
- (Hannibal snaps Franklyn's neck)
- Tobias: I was looking forward to that.
- Hannibal: I saved you the trouble.
- Will: I feel like I have dragged you into my world.
- Hannibal: No. I got here on my own. But I appreciate the company.
