Biography

Lee Daniels gave his parents, Clara Watson and William L. Daniels, an early Christmas gift when he was born on Christmas Eve 1959. He graduated from upscale, surburban Radnor High School in 1978, and Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri. He couldn't afford film school, so he started in a liberal arts college in Missouri, but realized that it wasn't for him and went to work as a receptionist in a nursing agency in California. Realizing that he could do it on his own, Daniels quit the job and started his own agency. By the time he was 21, he had over 5000 nurses affiliated with the company. He then sold the company and went to work casting actors using his skill from "casting" nurses.
