Season Four

Lost: Missing Pieces (2007–2008) premiered on November 11, 2007. A series of 13 mobisodes or webisodes, Lost: Missing Pieces were made available for viewing on Verizon mobile phones and, six days later, on ABC's website. Each mobisode consists of two-to-three minute stories of new moments from Lost, revealing answers and new details about the characters.

The mobisode series was originally announced in November 2005 as the Lost Video Diaries, consisting of 20 episodes with each being several minutes long. Non-union talent was to be used, but Lost's writer-producers, actors and directors refused to support the spin-off if it was non-union. By April 2006, the Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild had reached an agreement with ABC and Touchstone Television and, in July 2006, it was announced the mobisodes would appear during season three's mid-season break. The revised premise of the series would consist of Hurley finding a functioning video camera and recording events on the island. However, contracts with cast members were not finalized in time and production was delayed. In June 2007, the mobisodes were slated to appear in Fall 2007.
