MTE was an American television production company.
History
MTE (also known by its full name, MCA Television Entertainment) was formed in 1987 by MCA as a sister company to MCA Television, serving as a specialty production division, producing television series for cable networks (most notably the series Dream On), as well as TV movies for cable and broadcast networks and direct-to-video product.
With the acquisition of MCA by Canadian company Seagram in 1996, MTE ceased operations when it was folded into Universal Television. Its programs are now syndicated by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios. A successor of sorts to MTE, Universal Cable Productions, was formed in July 2008.
