Parenthood is a sitcom based on the 1989 motion picture of the same name. It delivered seriocomic vignettes on rearing children, revolving around four generations of the Buckmans, a middle-class California family (the movie however, took place in St. Louis, Missouri). The Huffners of the movie were renamed the Merricks.
