Private Eye is a crime drama that aired on NBC.
A former police detective in 1950s Los Angeles named Jack Cleary, several years after he was thrown off the LAPD due to corrupt cops framing him for corruption when they find out about his investigation of them, becomes a private investigator after the murder of his brother, also a private eye, during a case. Cleary takes over his brother's agency and is assisted in his cases by streetwise youth Johnny Betts while Charlie Fontana, Cleary's former LAPD superior and now his contact on the force, keeps him informed on the subjects of his cases.
