Star Play is a pilot for a game show that was intended for syndication in 1989. It was a cross of You Don't Say! and Body Language.
Two teams each of three celebrities participate with two civilian contestants per team. One team selects a category card (person, place, thing, phrase, etc.) which shows how many clues it will take to identify the category's subject. In sixty seconds, a celebrity acts out each clue. After correctly identifying the subject, the team's remaining time becomes their score. High score wins the round with $100 awarded for the first round, $200 for the second and $300 for the third.
The team with the highest money score wins and vies for $5000. Three windows denote a person, place or thing and behind them are clue words scrambled out of sequence. In 45 seconds, the team must assemble the clue words to their proper order and identify the subject.
Tom Kennedy and Carol Burnett were co-executive producers of the pilot, which did not get greenlit as a series.
