Stargate Infinity is a Saturday morning cartoon loosely based on the Stargate universe. The show took place in the future, and the characters (for no readily explainable reason other than it was a Saturday morning cartoon) wore odd-looking armor instead of military uniforms.
The show lasted for only one season before its cancellation due to low viewership and poor reception from Stargate fans, who viewed the show as an attempt to cash in on the popularity of the Stargate series. Although the show is considered part of the Stargate franchise, it is not considered to be part of the franchise's official canon.
4 Kids Entertainment and DIC Enterprises co-produced the series in association with MGM Television, which also distributes the show.
