Plot Overview

The brothers rescue their father, John, who is being held hostage by Meg and another unknown demon. Meg wanted the pistol that the family had retrieved from the vampires in a previous episode, but John had given them a normal gun. Meg comes after the family but they are able to trap her with a spell. They exorcise the demon from her, but it kills Meg.

John too becomes possessed by a demon, which they believe to be the demon they had been hunting for so long. John tells Dean to shoot him with the pistol, which would kill the demon in addition to John, but Dean is unable to and the demon escapes. The family leaves town to try and regroup to see what their next step should be. As the final seconds approach they are hit by a semi-truck with a seemingly possessed driver.

  • The season finale of Supernatural was action packed. I was most curious as to whether they would send the show down the path of X-Files by having 1 continuous mystery which is always under the surface in the show, or more towards the Buffy path of having "big bads" when the Winchesters battle each season. It seems that they have chosen the former method and I can't really complain about that choice. Although I wouldn't have minded getting some resolution to the unnamed demon, there is still a lot that we don't know about it. In fact we know almost nothing about it as of yet. --MateoP 12:23, 10 June 2006 (EDT)
