At the barn dance, Ashley tells Justin they shouldn't announce their engagement and the Ryan arrives. Reena asks Ginny and Ryan if they have seen Max. Lurlene tells Jeb that Caleb passed out in the hayloft and they try to convince Rikki to sing but he and Ruby need to go to the Coop soon. Reena tells Jeb that Max has been gone a half hour but he says he doesn't know where he is. Max readies the dynamite. Reena looks for Max while Justin announces to everyone that Ashley has agreed to marry him. Rikki introduces Ruby to Striker and Vicky and then he and Reena wonder where Max and Elena are. Jeannie tells Mel that she understands his feeling hurt by Helen taking off with Gus. Gus tells Helen that he likes the way she is playing hard to get. Kate tells Justin she is willing her share of the ranch to Max. Ryan tells Reena and Ginny that he is having another directional survey done next week and wants Striker to recommend the man to do it. Helen gets Gus to go to the store to buy lobster for dinner and when he leaves she finds the money. Ruby tells Rikki she thinks it would be nice to live on a ranch. Jeb tells Lurlene that he knows Max is doing something wrong and has her tell Reena a lie so she won't worry which she does. Max continues getting things ready at the well. Gus finds Helen on the phone and with the money and pulls a gun on her. Ashley apologizes to Reena for Justin's announcement and then Reena tells her and Justin that Ryan is going to do another survey that will prove max is right. Jeb tries to stop Max and Max knocks him out. Joe waits for Elena to call back. Gus takes the wig off and knows it is Elena and Elena throws the bag over the balcony and Gus leaves to go get it. Then Elena leaves with her bag. Ruby tells Rikki if he wants Nita he should go for it and if he can't have her accept that fact and move on. Max puts Jeb in the back of the pickup struck and then when he heads back to the well Bubba comes out of the mud shack. Elena tells Joe she got the money and then he tells Jeannie that he is quitting. As the dancing continues, Bubba and Max fight at the well and then Max lights the fuse and Bubba hits him and tries to drag him from the well but runs off in fear.
