Plot Overview

Elliot invites Paige to have dinner with him and Dennis overhears. Ruby reads the paper as Roy and Billy Joe talk about Max's condition. Then Detective Michaels arrives and shows him a bag that belongs to Billy Joe and says it was found on a dead man named Gus last night. Elena comes home and is happy to find Joe still there. Evan tells Vicky he doesn't have much hope of Max pulling through. Evan checks on Reena and Max and agrees that Max opening his eyes would be a good sign. Then after Even leaves, Max does open his eyes and Reena tells him he is in the hospital but that he will be OK. Joe tells Elena he couldn't leave her and she reads in the paper that Gus is dead. Detective Michaels tells Peter that it looks like Joe got away with the money finally. Elliot tells Dennis he hopes he and Paige will be friends again someday. Reena tells Max she may give their love knot ring to their son to give to his bride to carry their love for another generation and she tells Vicky that Max opened his eyes and she tells her that Iris stopped by with some flowers. Joe tries to comfort Elena about everything. Evan tells Reena there is no new news about Max. Ruby tells Elena about Detective Michaels' visit. Pete finds the room where Joe was staying empty and wonders where he is. Paige tells Elliot she thought they could have dinner in the suite. Ginny and Reena talk about wedding plans. Elliot and Paige both agree that they are glad they are getting a chance to know each other now. Reena tells Ginny she stopped construction on the house until Max gets better. Elena tells an unconscious Max that she didn't realize until now how much the land meant to him and what a great brother he is. Elliot is surprised to find Dennis in his office waiting to hear how his "date" with Paige went. Elliot tells Dennis it wasn't a date and then learns Dennis never had dinner yet. Detective Michaels tells Ruby, Billy Joe and Peter that it looks like Joe Foster and a lady friend were working at Wan's Tex Mex Diner so if they find the lady friend they may find Joe. Elena tells Joe she is afraid Max won't make it and that he should leave town but Joe tells her that he isn't going to walk out on her no matter how dangerous it is. Even tells Vicky and Ginny he is less optimistic than he was earlier. Max remembers Reena telling him that she has decided she is ready to have children and then Max tells Reena he wants to be a daddy. Reena promises Max that he will be a daddy and then he tells her that he loves her and she says the same to him and then Max passes on.
