It's Not Over Until the Phil Sings is the fourth episode of the ninth season of The Amazing Race, and the one hundredth episode overall. Immediately departing Russia, the teams travel to Germany as Wanda and Desiree's relationship begins to show its cracks and several teams become stranded in an airport overnight.

Race Overview

On the second half of the third leg the teams finish the detours in Russia and head to Germany. Three teams get a lead as computer troubles leave six teams left to sleep in the Moscow International Airport overnight. The first task is a ride on the Mercedes-Benz test track in Stuttgart. Danielle & Dani follow Wanda & Desiree who lead them in circles on the Autobahn. Lake & Michelle gain a friend on the way to the Roadblock. Eric & Jeremy come in first for the second leg while Wanda & Desiree come in ninth and are eliminated.

Start

  • Continued from the previous episode as Eric & Jeremy arrive at the mat and Phil hands them a clue.
  • Saint Basil's Cathedral in Red Square.
    • Eric & Jeremy are the first team to arrive, however this is not the end of the leg and they are instructed to fly to Frankfurt, Germany and then take a train to Stuttgart.
      • The next stop is the Mercedes-Benz test track in Stuttgart, Germany.
    • Lake & Michelle, Ray & Yolanda, BJ & Tyler, Fran & Barry, Danielle & Dani, Wanda & Desiree, Joseph & Monica and David & Lori arrive and receive their clues.
  • At Moscow International Airport Eric & Jeremy score a flight to Frankfurt on Lufthansa. Their flight leaves at 7:05 PM.
  • Lake & Michelle and BJ & Tyler get on an Aeroflot flight that leaves at 9:15
  • Once at the test track the teams find out it doesn't open until 8:30 the next morning.
  • The remaining teams all take a 7AM flight on Lufthansa the next day.
  • The teams complete the test track task in the following order.
    • Lake & Michelle, BJ & Tyler, Eric & Jeremy, David & Lori, Ray & Yolanda, Wanda & Desiree, Danielle & Dani, Joseph & Monica and Fran & Barry
  • The teams are told to drive to Ellsbach Field in Bad Tölz.

Road Block

  • Find Roaming Gnome
    • The teams are directed to find one of eleven ceramic Travelocity Roaming Gnomes hidden under 150 Gnome feet and hats.
      • Jeremy, Lake, BJ, Barry, Ray, Joseph, Dave, Danielle and Desiree perform the Roadblock.
        • Jeremy, BJ, Joseph and Dave find their gnomes under hats.
        • Lake, Barry, Ray, Danielle and Desiree find their gnomes under feet.
  • The next stop is the Bavaria Film Studios in Geiselgasteig.

Detour

  • Break It
    • Teams must break open stunt bottles over their heads until they find a label with the German word for cheers printed on the inside. Teams may only break one bottle each time a cuckoo clock crows.
      • Eric & Jeremy, Lake & Michelle, BJ & Tyler, David & Lori, Joseph & Monica and Ray & Yolanda choose this task.
        • Joseph & Monica and Ray & Yolanda switch tasks.
  • Slap It
    • Teams must perform a traditional German dance.
      • Fran & Barry, Joseph & Monica, Ray & Yolanda, Danielle & Dani and Wanda & Desiree choose this option.

Pit Stop

  • The Pit Stop is at the Siegestor on Leopoldstraße.
    • Eric & Jeremy arrive first and receive a trip for two from Travelocity to the Heart of Africa.
    • BJ & Tyler, Lake & Michelle, Fran & Barry, David & Lori, Joseph & Monica, Ray & Yolanda and Danielle & Dani reach the pit stop next.
    • Wanda & Desiree arrive last and are eliminated.

Next Time

  • Teams have a hard time finding a clue in some laundry hanging out to dry.
  • Lori has a breakdown at the Road Block.
