Plot Overview

While scouting for food, Aaron and Gabriel take a rest in a seemingly abandoned warehouse where they find their ethics tested.

• While drinking, Gabriel concedes that evil is man's default nature, not the exception. When Mays confronts him on this, he attributes it to being drunk. However, that he kills Mays and claims it was because he was too dangerous to bring with them suggests he does believe it.

Referbacks

• Answering Mays's question about what happened to his arm, Aaron recounts that it was crushed during a construction accident (The Bridge)

• Gabriel states that he lost his eye to an infection that he got over the events of "The Big Scary U" that became more apparent in subsequent episodes of Season 8.

Memorable Moments

• After arguing to Gabriel that everyone is evil, Mays appears to be reached and unties Aaron. As the situation has been defused, Mays is suddenly and fatally bashed in the head by Gabriel with Aaron's mace arm.

Goofs

• After dragging Aaron out, Mays takes the rag out of his mouth. However, after untying him, it cuts to a wide shot of the three in frame and you can see that the rag is back in Aaron's mouth.

Quotes

• Aaron: He... He just came at me. I didn't... I didn't, uh... What?

Gabriel: Nothing. It's just that was, um... That was quite the scream.

Aaron: These things are vicious!

Gabriel: Clearly. No. Hence... the scream.

• Mays: Why do you wear that?

Gabriel: What?

Mays: The collar. Why you still wearing it?

Gabriel: Probably for the same reason you keep all those Bibles. I wear it because the Word of God still matters. It's a light in an otherwise very dark world. And a reminder of the goodness still within us. Things like love, mercy, forgiveness...

Mays: Toilet paper.

Gabriel: What?

Mays: The Bibles. They're my toilet paper. I like the thin pages. And I can find them everywhere.

Gabriel: Maybe instead of wiping your ass with it, you should read it.

Mays: Yeah, I've read it. Cover to cover. That's why I wipe my ass with it.
