Plot Overview
Opening Monologue
In a normal family, a surprise means presents, cake and a party. For me? I had no idea! In my family, doing something nice is seen as an attack. When I was 9, I "attacked" my father with a father's day gift—a visor organizer for his car because it was useful and it rhymed. Visor organizer. I was nine.
How many massacres have started with "surprise!?" Pearl Harbor. The Tet Offensive. My uncle's 50th birthday party. I was there, man! How many more have to die?!
The Show
Titus, Erin and buy into holding a surprise party for Kathy, hoping that if Ken thinks that they like her, he'll break off their relationship out of spite. However, it turns out that the trick is on them when Ken tells them that the party was a ruse to make them help Kathy move in. When Erin objects, they decide to turn the devious surprise party into a devious moving Kathy in party under the impression that he'll inevitably chase her off like every other woman in his life.
When he discovers the lamps shaped like women in Victorian dresses, Titus decides that it would be even better to redecorate Ken's house with Kathy's girly junk and force him into moving her out. By doing this, he and Dave manage to win Kathy over and she starts telling them about their father thinks about them (which is far more complimentary than what he actually says to them). This makes them rethink their hatred of her and call off their devious plan.
Unfortunately for them, she only pretended to be motherly to them in order to manipulate Titus and Dave into moving all of Dave's things out of the house and locking the door. They try to get Ken to help them, but he just just winds up laughing at them and locking them out again. Ken suggests that Dave live with Titus, but Titus and Erin refuse. Instead, Titus goads Dave into going out on his own and being a man. It works at first and Dave starts to walk off... until he comes back with a baseball bat to beat dents into his father's car. Titus then takes the bat away just in time for Ken to come out, see the damage and lose his mind.
