  • Born at 7:15pm-EDT. to Mary Kain Keach and Stacy Keach, Sr., a community college drama teacher then director of the Pasadena Playhouse.
  • Brother of James Keach and former brother in-law of Jane Seymour.
  • Former Fulbright scholar.
  • Graduated from Van Nuys High School in June, 1959.
  • Studied drama at the University of California - Berkeley, Yale, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
  • Acted in a number of plays at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC.
  • Won an Obie in 1967 for his performance in the title role of MacBird!.
  • Performed the role of the King of Siam in a touring rendition of The King and I.
  • Has two children: son Shannon, daughter Karolina.
  • Was born with a cleft palate. He had it repaired and the scar is on his lip under the right nostril. He hides the scar with his trademark moustache.
  • Provided the narration for the Submarine ride at Disneyland (in Anaheim, California) - although the ride no longer exists.
  • Is often referred to as "The American Olivier".
  • Was jailed for nine months in England during 1984 for smuggling cocaine.
