Titus — Season Two

The Test is the second episode of the second season of Titus, and the eleventh episode overall. While in the hospital donating blood for Ken, Titus and Erin have a fight over their past infidelities which leads to everyone getting an AIDS test.

Plot Overview

Opening Monologue

How far would you go for someone you love? I heard this story about this woman who actually lifted a car off of her baby. Of course, I would've said "Dude, back up." But, wasn't my kid. When I was born, if I knew all the stuff my dad was gonna do for me I'd crawled right back in.

So, how do you repay a hardass father's tough love? Well, I'd like to start by punching him in the throat but my girlfriend won't let me because she's all nice and sweet and said she won't bring me cake in jail.

What would you do for the man who gave you life? When he gets old, would you bathe him, clean his messes, exfoliate his scaly bald head? Hell, no. But, I'm in for a pint of blood. He's my dad.

The Show

While filling out forms to donate blood for if Ken has another heart attack, an old fight about the waitress Titus slept with resurfaces with new developments. Neither Titus nor Erin practiced safe sex and Tommy suggests that they get HIV tests to make sure that neither of them has the disease. Everyone gets tested, but when the results come back everyone gets a negative test result except for Titus, who needs to go in for more tests.

After drawing it out over several hours, the nurse tells Titus that the doctor needs to see him. When he and Erin walk into the examination room, Ken leaps out from behind a curtain, screaming. It turns out that it was all one big set up in order to teach him a lesson about cheating safely.

As Titus and Erin leave, the waitress makes an unexpected appearance looking a lot more pregnant than when she was last seen. Although the baby doesn't turn out to be his, Erin and Tiffany still get in a brawl in the middle of the hospital.

• Dave: As mentioned in a previous episode, Dave was never legally adopted by Ken. His real last name, Scouvel, is mentioned briefly in this episode.

Referbacks

• 1x04 - The Breakup: Titus slept with Tiffany, a waitress at a diner, after he and Erin got into a fight and they broke up briefly. Tiffany shows up again in this episode, but she is played by a different actress than in the first episode.
