A Dangerous Road is the twelfth episode of the second season of Tsubasa Chronicle, and the thirty-eighth episode overall. Syaoran and friends find themselves on a bus in the middle of a vast desert.

Plot Overview

Syaoran, Sakura, Kurogane, Fai and Mokona arrive on an asphalt road in the middle of a desert. Mokona goes to give Sakura her feather, but just then a truck speeds through, forcing all of them to dive for cover. The feather is caught atop the truck, which speeds away down the road.

As they are walking along the side of the road, a bus stops next to them. When they try to board, the bus (called a road train) requests they pay the fare, but they have no money. A girl on board offers to pay their fare — it turns out to be this world's version of Yuzuriha Nekoi. They board the road train, and a man spying on them shoots a flare into the sky, signaling a group of motorcycle riders in the distance.

Yuzuriha reveals that the reason she wanted them on board was so she'd have someone to talk to — an old man on the road train keeps rambling at her, and she has no idea what he's saying. Fai volunteers Kurogane to keep the old man busy.

Sakura talks to Yuzuriha while Syaoran works out a plan to get the feather back. They will be at the next rest stop at the same time as the truck for a very short time, giving them a chance to grab the feather. Shogo is watching them, but leaves satisfied that they aren't after him and Primera.

Mokona senses that the truck has stopped, but their own path is blocked by a different overturned truck. Syaoran jumps out of the road train and attempts to catch up with the truck on foot, but he throws a rope and dangles behind for a brief moment before hitting a road sign, knocking him off.

Sakura patches up Syaoran's hand, damaged by the rope. Seeing how they care for each other, Yuzuriha decides it must be love and vows to help them out. She solicits the help of the other passengers on the bus, but no one is willing and able to help.

The road train rides into the sunset, but suddenly stops. Yuzuriha explains that automobiles cannot be run at night. Mokona confirms that the truck has stopped as well, but is too far away to walk. Just then, the road train's automated system detects unauthorized vehicles on the road — the Road Gang, a group of pirates. The road train's defensive systems are not particularly effective against them. Syaoran goes outside to confront them, intent on stealing one of their bikes. Kurogane joins him.

• Mokona wants to give Sakura her feather back, but the feather is swept away by a passing truck. They board a bus in an attempt to try and catch up to it.
