Basic Information

Kurogane is a deadly warrior from an alternate version of Japan ruled by Princess Tomoyo. He was exiled from that dimension due to his arrogance, and now he must travel with Syaoran and the rest in search of Princess Sakura's lost memories.

Kurogane loves to fight and prove his strength; he takes pleasure in challenging himself and battling strong opponents. He is also very protective of those weaker than himself, and disdainful of those who could fight but choose not to. This last fact creates strain between him and Fai.

Character History

Kurogane was the top warrior in Princess Tomoyo's army, and served her proudly. Unfortunately, he bested everyone around and caused great destruction, prompting Tomoyo to banish him from their dimension. She also laid a curse upon him: for every person he killed, his strength would diminish.

When he reached the home of Yūko the Dimensional Witch, she sent him to travel with Syaoran and Sakura in search of Sakura's lost feathers until they reached Kurogane's home dimension. In exchange for the ability to travel, Kurogane was forced to give up his sword, the Silver Dragon. He vowed that he will return for it.

As they have traveled Kurogane has become a mentor to Syaoran, and eventually the boy asked for sword instruction. It is the two of them that do most of the fighting, as Fai never seems to truly take it seriously. Kurogane has noted that Fai does not value his life, and for this reason Kurogane can't stand him. Fai also has a tendency to assign cutesy nicknames to Kurogane, which are then repeated by Mokona.

In the land of Ōto, Kurogane received a new sword: Souhi (Blue Water). Because of the magical disturbance caused by Seishiro, the sword remained real even though it came from a virtual world.
