Plot Overview
Syaoran returns home from the excavation, where he is greeted by Princess Sakura. He takes her shopping in town, where she is recognized by the crowd. The palace guards come to get her, but Syaoran and Sakura run away. They sit on a roof overlooking the ruins, where they reminisce about the first time they met. Sakura asks Syaoran to come live in the palace with her, but he declines. She begins to confess how she feels about him, but is interrupted by a tolling bell. Sakura returns to the palace. Syaoran ponders about how he shouldn't feel what he feels for her.
Sakura tries to sneak past her brother at the palace, but King Touya spots her anyway and teases her about Syaoran. High Priest Yukito interrupts them, unrolling a map of the ruins. He points out that there are numerous underground passages to the ruins, and Touya teases Sakura about how these will keep Syaoran busy for a very long time. She runs off, and Yukito admonishes Touya. They talk about how Syaoran is the one for Sakura, but not without many hardships. They also mention a "mysterious power" of Sakura's.
After the eyecatch, we see Kurogane on a roof, bragging about how no one can beat him. Princess Tomoyo is watching from a distance, and she asks Souma if this is true. Souma says it is, and Tomoyo makes a decision.
Fai climbs out of a pool of water, where King Ashura lays dormant at the bottom. While Chi dries him off, he talks about how he cannot stay there anymore.
Sakura is on a balcony overlooking the ruins, thinking about her feelings for Syaoran. She hears a strange noise coming from the ruins. Sakura begins to glow and float in the air. At the ruins, Syaoran is investigating the underground chambers, where he finds a strange marking on the floor. When he looks up, Sakura is there. She touches the marking, and it begins to glow. It opens, and she floats down into the opening. Strange shadowy figures appear all over the place, and Touya and Yukito sense something is wrong.
Syaoran runs downstairs, where he sees her floating in the air. She grows a pair of luminescent wings, and begins to sink into the wall. Syaoran grabs her just in time, but the wings disappear, the feathers floating up and away. Syaoran takes her out of the ruins, but he is being watched...
Outside, Touya and Yukito fight the strange shadow figures. Yukito checks Sakura, and reveals that all of her memories are gone. Touya places Sakura's well-being in Syaoran's hands. Syaoran picks up Sakura, and Yukito leads them down into the ruins. He casts a spell, telling Syaoran that he is sending them to someone who can help - the Dimensional Witch.
Fai casts a spell in his own world and disappears, while Kurogane is being transported unwillingly by Tomoyo, who says that she is sending him away so he can become stronger.
Syaoran arrives on the Dimensional Witch's doorstep, where she is waiting. Fai and Kurogane soon appear as well. Syaoran begs her to help Sakura.

Allusions and References
CLAMP References
- Cardcaptor Sakura: Sakura, Syaoran, Touya, Yukito, and Tomoyo. Their personalities and how they interact is nearly identical. Touya and Yukito are best friends (and possibly lovers); Touya teases Sakura; Touya can't stand Syaoran, mostly because of his relationship with Sakura. Syaoran's father, though not named, is Fujitaka (Sakura Kinomoto's father), and like that character, he is also an archaeologist. The Kingdom of Clow is a reference to Clow Reed. The magic circle Yukito uses to send Syaoran and Sakura away is the same circle used by Yue (and almost the same symbol that Sakura herself uses, minus the sun symbol).
- Chobits: Chi is Fai's assistant here.
- RG Veda: King Ashura is the person Fai has trapped under the water; Souma is working for Princess Tomoyo.
- ×××HOLiC: Yūko, Watanuki, and the twins are waiting on the steps of her house.
Memorable Moments
- Kurogane calls Princess Tomoyo some very nasty names as he is sucked into another dimension.
