Biography

Bob Stewart was an American TV game show producer. He first created a show for New York City television called The Sky's The Limit, during which time he developed The Price Is Right which was taken in by the Goodson-Todman banner. With Goodson-Todman, Stewart created Password and To Tell the Truth. He struck out on his own in 1964, developing his own production company in association with Filmways Inc.

His first solo outing was the NBC game show Eye Guess. His ensuing shows were scattershot in quality and longetivity, but in 1973 he created The $10,000 Pyramid, his biggest success. That show would emerge eighteen years hence in different variations. He still filled airtime with other shows until 1989 when his son Sande took over.

Stewart died on May 4, 2012. His passing was mentioned on the May 7, 2012 telecast of The Price Is Right on CBS, of which he had no part aside from the name and (tangibly) the one-bid element.
