Season Six of Red Dwarf premiered on October 7, 1993.
In the first episode of this season, Psirens, we find out that Red Dwarf has been stolen. Lister, Rimmer, and the Cat have been in "deep sleep" for over 200 years aboard Starbug, pursuing Red Dwarf, while Kryten tends to the ship.
The Cat has become a competent pilot with a sixth sense that can "smell" trouble, even out in space. We do not see Holly at all this season.
Rimmer's hologram projector is upgraded to a "hard light" hologram in the episode Legion. This enables him to touch things and do everything a normal human can do. It also makes him virtually indestructable.
Season six ends with a cliffhanger: the destruction of Starbug!
