Plot Overview

As a downed tree threatens Hilltop's safety, Lydia's ostracisation leads to a serious ramification.

Happenings

• A tree just outside Hilltop crashes in, ultimately destroying part of the wall. Most everyone suspects it's the Whisperers.

• Michonne reveals to Daryl that keeping Lydia maybe what staves off Alpha.

• Michonne, Judith, and Luke head to Oceanside after the report seeing a Whisperer.

Characters

• Lydia is harassed and finally attacked. Negan intervenes and accidentally kills Margo. The council is split on what to do. Being the deciding vote, Gabriel finds Negan has escaped. Lydia falsely claims responsibility as an excuse to be locked in the cell.

• Ezekiel has felt the loss of Henry, Carol, and the Kingdom, so much he considers suicide. After a talk with Michonne, he recovers.

• It's revealed Yumiko was Magna's defence lawyer.

• Despite having saved his life, Aaron still has doubt that Negan has changed.

• Ezekiel counts among his losses Henry's brother Benjamin (Bury Me Here) and Shiva (Some Guy).

Trivia

Allusions and References

• The kiss between Ezekiel and Michonne is a nod to the graphic novels where the two are depicted as being in a relationship. This seems to be outright alluded to when he tells her something might have happened between them in another universe.
