Trivia
He was a good friend of fellow actor and Hogan's Heroes' co-creator Bernard Fein. Fein named the main character Colonel Robert Hogan in the hopes that actor Hogan would take the role. He turned it down, paving the way for Bob Crane to accept the role and rise to stardom. Hogan did, however, agree to appear as a guest star in an early episode of the series.
