Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King is the twelfth feature in the series of made-for-DVD animated movies based on Scooby-Doo. It was released September 23, 2008.
At a Halloween carnival, Shaggy and Scooby expose a magician, the Amazing Krudsky, as a fake. In Krudsky's tent, a Fairy princess lands, and Krudsky catches her. Absoring the princess' powers, Krudsky becomes a real magician and sets off to capture the sceptre of the Goblin King and rule the world. Shaggy and Scooby are recruited to enter the magic world and get the sceptre before Krudsky can.
Of visual note: when Velma sees the supernatural chaos Krudsky has unleashed, her rational synapses short circuit and she collapses. In turn at the conclusion, Shaggy actually waxes philosophic: "You never know where your next scare is coming from. You've just gotta find the courage to face it."
