Music
- Welcome Back by John Sebastian: The song that the Sacred Heart employees sing to Dr. Cox when he comes back to work is "Welcome Back" by John Sebastian, better known as the theme song to the sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. This explains the "Welcome Back, Coxer" t-shirts that everyone is wearing.
- World Spins Madly On by The Weepies: The song that plays in the background after Dr. Cox gives his heart-to-heart speech to Elliot is "World Spins Madly On" by The Weepies from their album Say I Am You. Incidentally, songs from that album have also been used on rival medical series Grey's Anatomy.
