Notes
Brave New Worlds
- Little is known save for a comment about it about being full of dust (mentioned only)
- During the period in which Texas was a sovereign nation, it managed to evade being annexed into the United States. While the Civil War went on, the Republic of Texas expanded westward, absorbing territories that include San Francisco. This has left much of the customs of the Old West still carried over into the present day, specifically in regard to the business world.
Timer
- Never stated, but appears to be about 72 hours

Trivia
The Show
Behind the Scenes
- This is the fifth episode filmed for Season 2.
- Initially, the idea behind the character of Billy the Kid was that he is a double of Microsoft C.E.O. Bill Gates. In fact, there was consideration of even getting Gates to play himself before casting a lookalike, but the idea never fully made it to screen. However, a FOX press release lists the character as Billy "The Kid" Gates.
Allusions and References
- This episode has several allusions to the 1953 film Shane, specifically the last shot where Jamie calls out to Quinn after he's gone.
- Jamie refers to the Mighty Morphin Texas Rangers
Memorable Moments
- After Bullock tells Quinn that he intends to prosecute him, Quinn challenges the others on the premise if they think they're faster than the man they believed he shot. After they stand down, Quinn turns his back and pauses to close his eyes in relief that they didn't call his bluff.
Goofs
- When Arturo opens the vortex, an extra to his left begins to react to it before the lights or sounds of it actually start.
- Additionally, the vortex opens in correlation to the sound and light from the timer, but the beam emanating from it that actually opens it is delayed.
- Just before he slides, Quinn puts Jamie's hat back on before it blows off again from the wind from the vortex. When it cuts to the next shot, you can see that Jamie's hat is back on.
Quotes
- Arturo: Children and their guns.
- Wade: Boy children.
- Rembrandt: Big trouble.
- Arturo: Already?
- Arturo: Quinn, not to diminish in any way your sense of remorse, but these people have different values. Life here is cheap.
- Quinn: Dead is dead, Professor. The fact that people don't give a damn doesn't make me feel a whole lot better.
- Rembrandt: One thing about staying in this hotel on every world, it kind of defeats the purpose of stealing towels.
- Wade: The only thing I've learned from sliding, Professor: never get too comfortable.
